Treat yourself to this 10 minute personal exploration to illuminate the areas that are feeling stuck and begin putting your purpose into action…it just might be easier than you think ;)
Items needed
10 minutes + a quiet space to reflect + a notebook and pen + you
6 Steps
1. Get Present
Set up a quiet space for yourself before you begin. Put away your electronic devices, close the door, and take 5 deep breaths to invite in the present moment. This is your time to relax and connect to yourself, and taking the time to begin in this way sets the tone for a deeper exploration to arise.
2. Ask, Listen, & Free Write
There are 3 reflection questions listed below that are designed to help unlock your purpose and begin putting it into action. Read the first one, listen to what your inner self has to say, and allow yourself to free write the response.
Don’t worry about whether the answers are “right or wrong.” Simply get them out on paper and continue to write until you feel you’ve got it all out. Then move on to the second question, and the third, repeating the process with each one.
What would you say “yes” to in your life if you had no fear?
What would you say “no” to in your life if you had no fear?
What is the quiet voice of truth within you longing to say? Create? Be? Do?
3. Reflect & Choose
Now that you’ve written all of this out, what do you notice? Do you see any patterns or themes? Based on what you’ve uncovered today, what is one thing you can put into action to move you closer to what you truly desire?
It doesn’t need to be “the right thing” or “the most important thing,” though it can be. Simply choose one item to put into action in a way that honors you.
Why? We can easily get overwhelmed trying to choose the perfect action and end up doing nothing at all.
Getting started is what’s going to help you start, so choose one, and go for it!
4. Action & Accountability
Put your action item on the calendar and enroll an accountability partner today by telling a friend, coach, or colleague what you’ve committed to.
Scheduling it creates a commitment to yourself, and telling someone else gives you a double layer of support to move your action into completion. You can even set up a regular accountability date with that person so each of you has a support system as you take inspired action together.
Bringing consciousness to your new action item is key to increasing your chances of success.
5. Celebrate
Remember to celebrate when you finish!
This is a critical step as we so often move on to the next thing, but life is so much more than a checklist of to do’s! Taking a moment to soak in the goodness helps you enjoy the results of your action while reinforcing both what you DO want, and the positive steps you are taking to say yes to your life.
6. Reflect, Rinse & Repeat
Once you’ve completed your action item, take a look at your original exploration. What do you notice? What’s changed? Is there anything you want to add, remove, or adjust on your list? Choose your next action and continue the process forward.
It’s amazing the difference even 10 minutes of intentional reflection and action per week can make. I see amazing results all the time, and if you are inspired to let me know what changes this creates in your life, please do - I’d love to hear from you!
With love and gratitude,
Lena
